Belarus – The Netherlands: New Opportunities for Trade and Investment Cooperation

The Belarus EU Business Council was invited to make a presentation of its activities at the Seminar “Belarus – The Netherlands: New Opportunities for Trade and Investment Cooperation”. The event took place on 19 June 2014 in the historical building of the Geelvinck Business Center in Amsterdam.

Following the opening remarks by Jurn Buisman, Honorary Consul of Belarus in Amsterdam, the Head of the Trade and Economic Section of the Embassy of Belarus in the Netherlands Dmitry Fomchenko presented the priority areas of trade and investment cooperation between Belarus and the Netherlands and gave an overview of the most attractive sectors for doing business in Belarus. Annual BEUBC Reception 12 May 2014 - Villa Leopoldine - Brussels

The Belarus EU Business Council gathered together its EU partners on 12 May to thank them for their support of the Council and exchange views in an informal setting about the current stance of affairs and what next could be done to improve business ties between the EU and Belarus.

The reception coincided with the European tour of the choir of the Sainte-Elisabeth Convent (Minsk) - winner of numerous international competitions. The conductor, nun Iouliania (Denisova), is a holder of the distinguished reward - medal of the St. Kirill Turovskyi. Read more...

Refreshing the Eastern Partnership Policy

Discovering BelarusThe Belarus EU Business Council held a conference “Refreshing the Eastern Partnership Policy” on 26 March at the European Commission Representation in Berlin.

2014 is a year of transition in terms of EU governance, with the appointment of new EU external action leaders, and a year of reflection. It is ten years since the big-bang enlargement of the Union to embrace countries from Central and Eastern Europe, and the launch of the European Neighbourhood Policy. Looking to the events unfolding in Ukraine, this new year also presents an opportunity to analyse and rethink the EU’s policy towards the Eastern Partnership countries.
