Berioza Cheese Plant & Molodova Dairy FarmFrom 5-10 January the Belarus EU Business Council together with John Hutchison of Hutchison Associates carried out a visit to the Berioza Cheese Plant and the Molodova Dairy Farm in order to carry out a preliminary assessment of the facilities and organise a workshop on the findings with a view to helping the units to carry out works to secure compliance with EU requirements for approval for export of their products to the EU.
This is the first programme of the BEUBC in its series of workshops and seminars to help Belarus business in 2009. Please watch news on the website for further details of future programme items.
European Commission Launches Anti-dumping Investigation | | On 13 November the European Commission launched the anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of welded tubes, pipes and hollow profiles of square or rectangular cross-section, of iron other than cast iron or steel other than stainless originating in Belarus, Turkey and Ukraine. The products are described by CN codes 7306 61 92 and 7306 61 99. The interested producers should make themselves known to the Commission within 10 days, i.e. before 22 November to use the following address:

For Belarus the Commission suggested the United States as the analogue country to calculate dumping margin. Any comments on this matter should be sent to the Commission within 10 days (before 22 November). In this investigation the Commission intends to apply sampling for exporters, importers and Community industry. Click here to download the Notice of initiation.
Belarus EU Business Council Starts Discussing Specific Business Projects In Minsk
| | The Belarus EU Business Council has started discussing specific business projects in Minsk. During the meeting at the Seat of Government on March 6 First Vice Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko noted, “We are ready to get down to business and talk about specific cooperation issues with the delegation of the Belarus EU Business

Council”. Vladimir Semashko welcomed representatives of the British business, who have come to Minsk for the first time. The Council’s President James Wilson remarked, “It is the first part of the business meeting in Belarus”. He thanked the Belarusian side for organising the negotiations.
